Born and raised in Sardinia, Italy, Chef Paolo’s culture shaped a love of food. Surrounded by the fresh ingredients of his pastoral community, considered by National Geographic to be a global Blue Zone, and encouraged by dawn-to-dusk discussions of “what’s to eat?”, he developed an easy acumen of food preparation.
Paolo has been practicing his culinary skills for over 20 years. In addition to cooking for his family from a young age, he’s worked professionally throughout Italy, including the Umbrian, Tuscan, Piedmonte and Sardinian Costa Esmeralda regions.
A chance encounter in Perugia, Italy with an American student resulted in romance, marriage, and a move to the Philadelphia Main Line. Here, he continued his career with some of the area’s finest restaurants and chefs.
He now brings his love of cooking to the Philadelphia Main Line and surrounding areas. Drawing upon his Italian heritage, his professional background, and his appreciation of the family mealtime, Chef Paolo welcomes you as a client to Plum Tomato.
